OMA PROUDLY SUPPORTS
Our mission is to help protect one million acres of endangered rainforest through our Buy One Save an Acre program, and to inspire a movement of individuals committed to a healthy and sustainable future for our planet. The protection of these tropical ecosystems has recently been shown to be one of the most efficient tools we have in the fight against climate change, yet isn't getting NEARLY enough attention. Our goal with OMA is to not only create lasting impact for the future of our planet, but to create a platform to talk about the most pressing issues currently facing our planet in a new and engaging way .
In order to do this, we've teamed up with Rainforest Trust, a world leader in the protection of tropical ecosystems and wildlife. Rainforest Trust works by partnering with local and community organizations in and around the areas that are being threatened. After the acres of endangered land are purchased, the local people are empowered to help protect it through education, training and employment. Everytime you buy an item from us, you're not only insuring the protection of critically endangered rainforests, you're also insuring the livelihoods of the people that live in the very same areas we're working to protect.

lungs of the planet
Tropical rainforests affect the daily lives of every person on the planet. Rainforests are one of the most important natural resources left on Earth. Not only do they provide over 20% of our oxygen and fresh water, they safely store billions of tons of carbon, helping ward off climate change. It's easy to be disconnected from the importance of rainforests living so far away from them, but our survival truly depends on theirs.
home to millions
Rainforests are home to over HALF of the estimated 10 million species on Earth. Many of these have become threatened or endangered due to the current deforestation practices that have been taking over the land.
Tropical forests remain untapped resources for scientific and medical discoveries – a quarter of all medicines are sourced from plants found deep in the rainforest. Despite this, roughly 90% of the plants that actually exist there have never been studied for their medicinal value. A recent report found that six unique plant extracts from six different species found in the Rainforest “exhibited notable cytotoxicity” against colon cancer.
